FAQs – Outdoor Weddings, Parties, Retreats & other Events

Q. How do I book an event at Cajun Lake Lodge?
A. We suggest that you come to visit us, take a tour, and discuss your special needs so that we may tailor our services to fit you. We are open by appointment only, and so please contact us online about your outdoor wedding or event or call 615-499-2394. We would love to meet you! A deposit then holds your date.

Q. What will it cost?
A. We offer 4 outdoor wedding packages and various other event packages, depending primarily on the number of guests and your particular needs. All very competitively priced. Read more about the package and pricing details for outdoor weddings and events.

Q. How many people can you handle for outdoor weddings or other events?
A. We can handle any number of guests up to 150. For your guests up to 50, our Lodge can easily house your party and it is open year-round. For guests over 50 up to 150, our outdoor Bon Ton Party Barn is the best choice. It has glass garage-door sides and sits up on a hill, so breezes are plentiful for your parties or receptions in the Spring, Summer, or Fall, and we are now climate-controlled for events all year round. Please check out our Wedding Gallery and Event Gallery to get an introduction to our property and facilities.

Q. If I am getting married at Cajun Lake, where is the ceremony held? How about the reception?
A. You have your choice of any flat area on the property! We have several sites that have been popular with our couples and we can show you where they are…then you can use your imagination to pick your very own! Most receptions are held in the Bon Ton Party Barn.

Q. What if we only want our reception to be held at Cajun Lake?
A. No problem at all. We host wedding events with and without the ceremony on site.

Q. Is there anywhere for the bridal party to dress?
A. Yes, the Bridesmaids and Bride take over our Lodge for your special day, and the Groomsmen join the Groom in our Cabin. Most couples love this feature, as it provides a rush-free, private area for you to get ready for the big moment. Plus if the bridal couple or a small group of guests want to stay overnight at the Lodge or Cabin, both are available at a discount for wedding clients

Q. What if it rains?
A. We’ve got you covered in our Bon Ton Barn – and could have the wedding ceremony there (as well as the reception). For weddings over 100 guests, we recommend that you rent a tent for your ceremony to protect your guests.

Q. Where do our guests’ park?
A. We provide directed parking right on our grounds.

Q. Can we bring our own alcoholic beverages?
A. Yes, we have a beer permit now; guests bring their own wine and spirits.  We can recommend a vendor(s) and coordinate for you.

Q. Do you allow decorating and when do we have to remove our decorations?
A. Yes, you can do your own decorating, beginning the day prior to your event – and you do not have to remove your decorations until the next morning.

Q. Does your Party Barn have electricity and can we have a band(s)?
A. Yes, our Bon Ton Party Barn has as much electricity as you could need and we have had several top-notch bands perform there.

FAQs – Lodging

Q. Are you kid-friendly?
A. Absolutely, we love all the little ones and they love us, too. They can fish, run, picnic and bike away their days. Folks of any age are welcome.

Q. Are you pet-friendly?
A. Sorry, we do not allow pets.

Q. How do I make a reservation?
A. Please contact us to check availability and book the Lodge or Cabin or both.

Q. How far ahead of time do I need to book for Lodging?
A. Our weekends book quickly, especially in the Spring and Fall when we have a number of outdoor weddings and events, so as soon as you know an approximate date, please contact us. During the week does not book up quite as quickly, and sometimes you can get a room at either the Lodge or Cabin just by calling the week prior.

Q. How many people does your Lodge sleep? How about the Cabin?
A. The Lodge has four bedrooms: Three have queen beds, one room has two twin beds. We also have several sofas for the kids (or more adults). Our Ragin’ Cajun Cabin is a one bedroom with a full bed and a sleeper sofa.

Q. Is there a minimum number of nights that I have to make a reservation for?
A. No minimum nights for the Lodge or the Cabin. Stay for a night or as long as you’d like.

Q. What amenities are available in each facility?
A. The Lodge is a fully furnished 3-story house, with a stocked kitchen, laundry room, pool table, two party rooms (one has floor-to-ceiling windows on three walls so you can see the view from all angles), TV room with a huge flat screen TV, an outside fire pit, an indoor gas fireplace, and a quaint front porch with rocking chairs. Read more about our Lodging. The Cabin is a very private “hotel room” with a sitting area, and it sits out over one of our lakes. The back deck has a breathtaking view where you can watch the sunset or build a fire in our outside fire pit. Three levels of decking take you right down to the water where you can fish or dangle your feet over our floating dock.

Q. What is there to do on your property? And in the area?
A. Lots on premises at Cajun Lake Lodge (fishing, swimming, kayaking, hiking, wildlife watching, etc.) and in the area! We are 5 minutes to downtown Dickson with lots of restaurants and shops.

Q. What time is check-in and check-out?
A. Check-in is at 3:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. And please contact us online or call us today at 615-441-3973 if you have any other questions about our outdoor weddings, events or lodging.
